ಹೊಸ ವರ್ಷದ ಹಾರ್ದಿಕ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳು.
ಒಂದು ಭಾಷೆ ಬೆಳಯಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಅದರ ಶಬ್ಧಕೋಶ ಅಥವಾ ನಿಘಂಟು (dictionary) ಕೂಡ ಬೆಳಯಬೇಕು. ಕನ್ನಡ ಬೆಳಯಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಅದರ ನಿಘಂಟು ಕೂಡ ಬೆಳಯಬೇಕು.
ಕನ್ನಡದ ಮೊದಲನೇ ನಿಘಂಟನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಿದವರು Rev. Ferdinand Kittel ಎಂಬ Germany ಮೂಲದವರು. ಇವರು ಮಂಗಳೂರು, ಧಾರವಾಡ ಹಾಗು ಮಡಿಕೇರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಇವರು ಹಲವಾರು ಕನ್ನಡ ಕವಿತೆಗಳನ್ನ ಬರೆದಿದ್ದರು. ಇವರು ೧೮೯೪ನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲನೇ ಕನ್ನಡ-ಆಂಗ್ಲ ನಿಘಂಟನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಿದರು.
ಅಂತರ್ಜಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇವಲ ಕೈ ಬೆರಳುಗಲ್ಲಲಿ ಎಣಿಸುವಷ್ಟು ಕನ್ನಡ ನಿಘಂತುಗಳಿವೆ. ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ http://www.baraha/kannada/index.php ಅತಿ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯವಾದದ್ದು ಹಾಗು unicode ಬಳಸುವ ನಿಘಂಟು. ನನಗೆ ಅನಿಸಿದ ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ಒಂದು ಕೊರತೆ ಅಂದರೆ, ನಮಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಪದದ ಅರ್ಥ ಬೇಕಾಗಿರುವಾಗ ನಾವು ಈ ಅಂತರ್ಜಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಪದವನ್ನು type ಮಾಡಿ ಹುಡುಕಬೇಕು. ಇದು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಸಮಯ ವೆಚ್ಚ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದ್ದೆ. ಆದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಇದೇ ಅಂತರ್ಜಾಲದಿಂದ ಅರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುವ ಒಂದು native windows client ಅನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಇದು ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಲು ಬಲು ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿರುವ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಯ ಉಳಿಸುವ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ.
ಒಮ್ಮೆ ತೆರದ ನಂತರ ಈ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶವನ್ನು ಕಿರಿದಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಅದು system tray ನಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ task bar ಇನ ಜಾಗ ಉಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಇತರೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿ ಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದನ್ನು ಪುನಃ ಬಳಸಬೇಕೆಂದಲ್ಲಿ system tray ನಲ್ಲಿ ಇದರ icon ಇನ ಮೇಲೆ ಎರಡು ಸಲ ಒತ್ತಿದ ನಂತರ ಇದು ಮತ್ತೆ ಹಿರಿದಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
ಈ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ ಸಧ್ಯ Windows ಇಗಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಸಮಯ ಸಿಕ್ಕಲ್ಲಿ Mac, iPhone ಮುಂತಾದ ಯಂತ್ರಗಳಿಗೂ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುವೇನು. ಈ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶವನ್ನು ನೀವು http://kannadadictionary.googlecode.com/files/KannadaDictionary%20v1.4.msiಇಂದ install ಮಾಡಬಹುದು.

ನೀವು ಯಾವಾಗ installer ಡೌನ್ಲೋಡ್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ರಿ? ಹೊಸ file upload ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀನಿ. ಅದ್ರಲ್ಲಿ setup. exe ಮತ್ತೆ KannadaDictionary.msi ಅಂತ ಎರಡು file ಇರ್ಬೇಕು. ಇವು ಇಲ್ಲ ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಇನ್ನೊಮ್ಮೆ download ಮಾಡಿ.

ನಾನು ಯಾರ ಅನುಮತಿ ಪಡೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದು ಕೇವಲ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಪ್ರೇಮಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶ. ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರಿಗಾಗಿ ಇದು ನನ್ನದೊಂದು ಸಣ್ಣ ಕಾಣಿಕೆ. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲ ಪದಗಳ ಅರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನ ಬರಹ.ಕಾಮಿನಿಂದ ತೋರಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ.

Like Gopal mentioned, you'll need to publish the source code when you've released it under GPLv3.
Put up a clear note on copyrights. It should say that you're merely retrieving data from baraha.com, caching it. Give credits to the original compilation as they might have procured rights or permission to display them there.
I have finally uploaded the source code at http://code.google.com/p/kannadadictionary/source/browse/#svn%2Ftrunk%2FKannadaDictionary. I have given credit to the Baraha.com in the about dialog box in the application. I have also written to the Baraha.com team to let them know that I am using their source. I hope they don't have any objection.
I have got written consent from Seshadri Vasu (owner of Baraha.com) to use the content from their site :).

ಇದು x64 systemಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ install ಆಗುತ್ತದಾ? ನನ್ನ ವಿಂಡೋಸ್ xp 2nd editionಗೆ ಕೂರುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಫೈಲ್ಸ್ ಡೌನ್ಲೋಡ್ ಮಾಡಿ ಇನಸ್ಟಾಲ್ ಕೊಟ್ಟರೆ ಏನೋ error message ಕೊಡುತ್ತದೆ ಹೀಗೆ..

Maybe you are running low on disk space or having problem downloading the client.
Mr. Ajey, you have done an excellent job. My comment is so many people who are not having internet, also want to have kan dictionary. So pls help them also by giving such dictionary so that they can have it on their computer (which is not linked with internet)& use the dictionary without internet.

ಆ ಸಂತೋಷದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಫೈಲನ್ನು ಡೌನ್ಲೋಡ್ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೊಂಡೆನು. ಆದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು Install ಮಾಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೆಲವು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಫೈಲುಗಳ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆ ಇದೆಯಂತೆ. ಅದರಂತೆ ನಾನು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಡೌನ್ಲೋಡ್ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರೂ ಅದು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಗಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ co-ordination ಆಗಲಿಲ್ಲವೇನೊ! ನಾನು ಡೌನ್ಲೋಡ್ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ ಫೈಲುಗಳ ವಿವರ ಹೀಗಿದೆ.

ಈಗ ನಾನು ಹೇಳಬಯಸುವುದೇನೆಂದರೆ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಡತಕ್ಕೆ ನೀವು ಬಳಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅವಶ್ಯಕ ಫೈಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿ ಒಂದೇ ಫೈಲನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಬಹಳ ಅನುಕೂಲವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಬೇರೆ ಕಡೆ ಹೋಗುವುದು ತಪ್ಪುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸಿ ನನಗೊಂದು ಪತ್ರ ಬರೆದರೆ ನಾನು ಆಭಾರಿ.
